Reminder! No Live Today, Aug 6, 2023. Grands Instead!
I’m spending the week with my son’s family in Colorado Springs! It’s been over a year since I’ve gotten to see the grands and I can’t believe how much they’ve grown. Calvin is 12, Callie is 10, and the baby Aiden is 6. Here we are at the new Mission BBQ. Grammy sprung for lunch!
When we got there, it was right at noon. Every day the restaurant plays the National Anthem over the loudspeakers and runs a video of the flag flying. Everyone in the restaurant stops, stands, hats come off, and hands go over hearts to pay the proper respect to our country and her veterans. The kids all did it without even being told. This US Air Force retiree grammy was so proud!

It’s also so nice to see all the goodies I’ve made the kids over the years in their rooms and around the house. If you’ve been following me for a bit, you’ll recognize some of these fabrics and projects.

Man! These DBJJ potholders have had some USE! I told my DIL I’d make her some new ones. 🙂

Of course, Grammy has to do some sewing lessons. We made tablet holders for their new Kindles. Tomorrow is a lesson on sewing on a button by machine.

I was so proud to watch my son as pastor at his church today at Peak Bible Church. He is an Expository pastor so he preaches the literal meaning of the Bible. He’s on YouTube every Sunday for Sunday school and the sermon if you’d like to have a listen. He’s very good! Of course, I’m a bit partial. 🙂

Well, tomorrow is a ‘work’ day for me at Ruth’s Stitchery! If you’re in the area, I hope you can stop by and say hi! I’ll be there for a Meet & Greet from 10 to noon.
‘See’ you all next Sunday on the Live at 4pm Central. If you’re looking for a tutorial on the potholders, here you go!
Just love your pictures and family! Thanks for sharing….
So glad you are getting to spend some time with your family! We have a Mission BBQ here in Central Illinois which we have been to twice now with our Corvette Club. Love it!
Beautiful family Becky!
Your such a good Grammy!
So nice that you are spending time with your son and his family. Everyone looks very happy to have you there. Enjoy and soak it all in.
Used to live in Colorado Springs before going full time in our RV. Love Ruth’s. I used to work with both the Ruth’s at stretch and sew in the late 70s. Enjoy your visit,
Have a wonderful visit, you deserve it

Thanks for sharing photos of your trip. Enjoy your “Grammy” time with the grands and your son and daughter-in-law! Those times are so special and irreplaceable.
Gee whiz, Sure wish I would have known you were in the Springs. I would have drove down from Windsor to meet you and take a part in the shop hop. Hope you enjoy my gorgeous state. Safe travels back home.
A quilter/embroiderer, Air Force Veteran, entrepreneur, and the mother of a Pastor….. Could you be a more perfect American!!! Keep up your great work and inspiration!!! Many Blessings!!
So fun to see you and your family together. I can’t imagine how hard it is to have them so far away. One of our daughters lives only an hour away, and that seems so far. We have a brand new “grand”. Just 6 weeks old. He lives right around the corner and it’s wonderful. Have a great time and give them lots of hugs.
Becky, thanks so much for sharing your visit with us. We hear about your grands, and now have pictures to go with your stories. Beautiful family. We love Mission BBQ here in Michigan too. It gives me the chills at noon, when everyone stands and does the pledge. Have fun! I wish I could be at your class.
Thank you for taking the time to write to your loyal followers. Enjoy yourself with your family.
Love you all!
What a beautiful family! Enjoy.
What a wonderful family you are blessed to have. Many memories being made and they’ll never forget the time you visited and helped them sew something!! I often think of my legacy and thus I work hard to create memories that will set me apart from the ordinary. I want them to remember this Mam maw always had time for them! I love all 11 soooo very much!
On you post of when making your DBJJ scarecrow you mentioned you have a fully upgraded luminaire xp 1 to xp 3. What is that up grade called. I have purchased 3 up grades. The last one that contained the foot pedal and the magnetic frame. Is there another upgrade beyond that one? I live in San Antonio. I am a faithful follower of you postings on you tube.
