Weekend Stitching Update, #Kimberbell Home Sewn, the Stitchuation Room, 13 Jul 26
There’s nothing quite like crossing a project off the list, and Becky had two beautiful finishes to celebrate!
First up Becky announced she will begin producing more edited, informational videos to help viewers find specific techniques easily (3:37). I look forward to these, how about you?
Next Becky shows us the August Home Mini Quilt from Kimberbell, which is looking absolutely adorable. Becky finished the August project from Kimberbell (6:12). I love that thatched roof!
She also completed the colorful Brightly Sampler quilt, which was hiding in a closet for a bit. Becky walks us through her favorite machine binding technique. (31:30)
Becky creates her custom quilt labels using Embrilliance software. It’s such a thoughtful finishing touch that turns every quilt into a keepsake, and she shows us how she did one for the Brightly Sampler.
Wow, the Stocking Stuffers BOM Quilt will be fun, are you joining Becky? She has her fabric kit for the Stocking Stuffer Block of the Month (BOM) from Two Chicks Quilting (18:36).
If you join her, you will create several stockings per month, with a goal to finish the entire quilt by December (21:10). Just in time for the holidays!
Nutcracker Panel by Riley Blake
Becky will be starting the Nutcracker Panel by Riley Blake soon. Kits are available now. The Christmas elves seem to have hidden it in her sewing room somewhere, but Becky will keep looking. Who knows what other goodies will be found in the process!
Not So Spooky Runner Fabric Kit
Becky will be hosting this Stitch-Along to make the Kimberbell’s Not So Spooky Table Runner starting mid-August. The kit for the 16 ½ x 42 ½” runner includes fabric strips, applique pumpkins, and adorable spiders with wonky eyes and rick-rack webs. Stitch your runner on your sewing machine and add applique and optional background quilting with your embroidery machine! Get the pattern from Kimberbell.

America 250 Quilt Along
Work continues on the America 250 Quilt Along, (See here for all the info, pattern, and fabric!) and Becky cuts fabric for Small Triangle Block 1. She shares her progress, discusses preparing fabrics, and encourages everyone stitching along to stay caught up before the next blocks are released.

Use ScanNCut & Brother Canvas PC to Create Applique Lettering, the Stitchuation Room, 16 Jul 26
Today Becky takes us step-by-step using the Brother ScanNCut and Brother Canvas Workspace to create custom applique lettering for the Joyful quilt project (5:04, 16:40). A major focus of the video is transitioning from the soon-to-be-discontinued online version of Canvas Workspace to the downloadable PC/Mac version. Becky explains how to import scans from the machine to the computer (34:40). This is a great lesson if you need a refresher!
Joyful Quilt Pattern by Sweetwater
Becky is working on the Joyful quilt pattern by Sweetwater and uses quilty clippies to organize fabric pieces. These clippies are SO SEW helpful as we organize our fabric. (7:42). Becky highlights the importance of following the pattern’s cutting guide closely to avoid fabric waste (6:36). It’s such a pretty and unique quilt. The pattern is on on back order but get your name on the list!
The Chilly Fabric by Sweetwater is perfect for a country cabin look, isn’t it?
This video covers the scanning and cutting preparation, but Becky she covers the Snaplique process (converting these cuts into machine embroidery files) for her members-only content (15:06).

Use ScanNCut to Cut Fabric Applique Lettering, the Stitchuation Room, 17 Jul 26
Becky is working on the Joyful Quilt from Sweetwater. Today Becky works on converting the lettering using the Brother ScanNCut machine to efficiently cut fabric applique pieces. This allows quilters to save time cutting for complex patterns like lettering and shapes (27:56).
Helpful Tips!
She recommends using Hot Fix Adhesive (Use code POWER for 10% off) on the back of fabrics for stability (14:49). It leaves NO residue on the ScanNCut mats.
When using a highly sticky mat, she suggests placing the fabric pretty side down to ensure clean edges and prevent distortion (37:37).
Scissors! We are either on the hunt for our next fantastic pair, or on the hunt for where they wandered off to while we weren’t looking. Karen K. Buckley serrated scissors for trimming any great for tiny threads or “fuzzies” remaining after the cut (7:25).
The Moda Bella Solids in Porcelain is a classic, high-quality fabric frequently used in quilting projects. Becky is using it as part of the Joyful Quilt pattern (0:05:26). It perfectly blends with the rest of the fabrics.
