COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
Snapplique Class
This one-day, 7-hour class, priced at $600, is ideal for intermediate embroiderers and beginners using the ScanNCut (Cricut and Silhouette are not supported). Participants will receive hands-on training to scan paper patterns into the ScanNCut and learn to edit and manipulate scans in Brother Canvas for precise applique piece cutting. The course guides students through the theory of Snapplique and includes cutting applique shapes with the ScanNCut for machine embroidery, provides comprehensive software instruction to create and customize applique embroidery designs from scans, and concludes with stitching a project block to complete the design.
Snapplique Workshop
This two-day workshop, priced at $1,500, is tailored for experienced embroiderers and ScanNCut users eager to master creating custom applique designs from scanned paper images or pre-cut applique shapes. Participants will receive an in-depth presentation on Snapplique theory, learning techniques to optimize their digitizing success. Led by Becky, the course explores Embrilliance’s applique and drawing tools, covering the creation of outline shapes for In-The-Hoop projects like wall hangings and mug rugs, adding drawn lines for intricate design details, and crafting applique designs without a pattern. Students will complete a project to take home, along with written guidance and design/cut file
Considerations
For all events, the host must provide a table, chair, and access to a wall electrical outlet. Classes and workshops are limited to 20 students per day. The instructor will supply audio equipment, a projector, and a screen. Setup requires a large table to accommodate a ScanNCut and a laptop, along with a side table for audio/visual equipment, a speaker, and cords. Space behind the table is needed for a single tripod camera stand. The instructor will provide all necessary extension cords, camera equipment, and wireless audio for the demonstration. Events are limited to a maximum of two consecutive days of instruction, either as back-to-back sessions of the same class or one two-day workshop. The host will provide reimbursement for travel, meals, and commercial lodging.
