Vintage Christmas Quilt-a-Long April 2025 #MerryHometownChristmas
I’m keeping up with the Vintage Christmas QAL from the Fat Quarter Shop, and I’m all ‘cut and ready’ to begin the blocks for April. If I can do one block a week, I’m good. But the goal is to get them all done in the first two weeks of April and then use the 3rd week to cut the blocks for May. THEN I’m off to Indiana for a Snapplique™ workshop with my quilting friend Quilting With Harriet! WooHoo!! Road trip!
Here’s where you can get everything for this QAL. I’ve wanted to make this quilt forever so I’m glad #FQS launched it again. There’s a free schedule in this link too.
Here’s all four of the blocks cut and ready to stitch. They are set up on EZSTAX which are these nifty trays I use to organize all my cut pieces. I have one Yazzii bag full of this quilt. I put the existing blocks in a Yazzii zipper pouch so they don’t fray. If you want your own Yazzii bag to keep your quilt nice and tidy, use this link and code PTWT10 for 10% off. This is the Quilt Block Showcase Bag.

First up is the Holly & Ivy on page 41. A couple of weeks ago I cut all of the white background fabrics for all the blocks so I’m glad I marked which block each one was for on the tab of the EXSTAX. I’m using my stash of Lori Holt fabrics so if the pattern calls for green, I use a green. If it calls for a red; I use red, etc. Love this! I don’t have to hurt my head choosing fabrics. Well, technically the pattern doesn’t say to use red, the picture does. That’s good enough for me!

The 2nd block is the Ice Skate on page 43. I’m so glad I had some of that light gray Shabby for the blade. It’s perfect!

The 3rd block is the Jingle Bell. Go Scraps Go! I might swap out the red.

The final block for the month is the Reindeer. I used a brown Shabby for the body. It wasn’t until I was looking for a fat quarter to cover the measurements on the page that I discovered I had a solid tan FQ in the finishing kit I bought. Sigh… oh well. Still super cute!

I can’t wait to get these stitched up! More to come!…
If you’re following along, let me know in the comments! Would love to see your progress in our private FB group.

Super Organized!
I am following along! Haven’t quite finished March, but hope to get caught up this week 😊Love watching your progress!!
I’m looking forward to meeting you in Indiana at the Snapplique workshop with Harriet.
The little deer was hard for me to sew! I kept my seam ripper busy! I guess it was the tiny pieces. Anyone else have trouble with this block?
I can’t find the nice, neat printable schedule of which block/page number to work on. 😞 so sad
I must have been too tired last night. I Found IT! Yay!!
Thank you for your patient, encouragement, wonderful tutorials, positivity and making me laugh with you first thing in the morning.
Don’t change you. You are a special, amazing person!!
