Power Tools With Thread Weekly Review 1/5/26-1/9/26

Happy New Year and May your bobbins always be full!
What shall we stitch? Becky has some great inspirations for us! This week she is starting the January Mini Quilt Series from Designs by JuJu, and the Sweet Pea Celtic Table Center Let’s see what happened this week in the Stitchuation Room!
Monday, 1-5-26 Prim Embroidery Quilt Church Block, the Stitchuation Room
Becky’s “Enchanted Winter” project by Kimberbell, is complete and looking adorable on her wall! The added pom-poms, and rhinestones (2:11-3:16) from Kimberbell are icing on the cake. Or frosting on the ice as it were. That ice-cream carrying penguin makes me laugh! He’s adorable! Kimberbell never disappoints on the ‘cuteness’ scale.

Becky showed us her progress on the “Sweetheart Street” blocks, specifically the “Free Hugs and Kisses” and “Stems” blocks (4:27-6:13) and shares tips and tricks for thinner fabrics.

We watch as Becky gets the church block done. So pretty. She explains the process of setting up, Prim Embroidery Quilt Church Block (14:12-14:17) including fabric selection, thread choice and good hooping practices for the fabric with stabilizer (19:26-21:50). It’s always a joy to watch her work, isn’t it? This link will take you to the Etsy shops which still have kits.

She even shared how she repaired the embroidery machine arm on her Brother Luminaire (32:23-32:59) DON’T try this if your machine is still under warranty!
Becky received the December Fat Quarter Shop Sew Sampler box. If you only do one sampler box, this is the one to do. The fabrics are always high quality, there are coupons, and great project suggestions, sew alongs, and this month, coupons for planners (14:20-15:02).

AND Alpha Clippies are in the box! WOOHOO!! There are still a few December boxes left so if you want to get yours, now is the time. Otherwise, the Alpha Clippies are on backorder.

A pack of Front Porch fabrics, all needed for the included quilt pattern is a great collection! I love those muted colors!

As well as instructions for a Sunflower Power Block.

January Sampler Block for #DBJJ Monthly Mini Quilt, the Stitchuation Room, 1-7-26
Oh these Monthly Mini Quilts are going to be admired in any home they hang in. So cleverly designed, to hang in the house frame. Here’s Becky’s.

Becky used Heat and Bond Ultra to iron in some magnets hidden in little pockets into the back, so the quilts will all attach well to the house. Then she dropped in some magnets inside the envelope back on the mini-quilt to attach it to house. Ingenious! (11:10). The house design is part of a bonus bundle from Designs by Juju, acquired with a $30 purchase. Juju’ has so many cute designs its’s easy to get to $30.00 with Valentine’s Day and St Patrick’s Day coming, and spring designs because spring is around the corner, right? We can dream.
The Valentine’s Day Scan N Cut passport project from My Girlfriend’s Quilt Shop Valentine’s Day Project (19:47) will be fun. 15 designs! Take a look. And now you can also order a KIT! Yay! No more waiting from Amazon or agonizing over what to choose. So fun!

Becky demonstrates for us how to prepare the materials for theJanuary mini quilt by JuJu. explaining as she goes along the wisdom of using SF 101 and tips to prep efficiently.
Enjoy!
