New ‘Right Side Up Banister/Couch Quilt Kit (7:51)
Becky gives a sneak peek at a brilliant new project called the Right Side Up Banister or Couch Quilt by Kimberbell. It’s designed to look right-side up from both sides! How clever is this?? This fabric kit includes pre-cut applique pieces you can stitch down with your domestic sewing machine or you can get the machine embroidery designs that fit each piece perfectly. You’ll be finished just in time for warmer weather!
My Girlfriend’s Quilt Shoppe has the pattern and the kit. Becky plans just making one side so it fits in the spot in her sewing room she has set aside for it.

Stitch Your Sewing Room:
Becky did a deep dive preparing the Stitch Your Sewing Room Embroidery Stitch a Long, breaking down the pattern prep, including how to handle the USB on a Mac using a dongle (21:15) and how to organize your files (27:00). The tips are great for any of us, even if you are not sewing along!

Stitch Your Sewing Room Embroidery Stitch a Long is designed to be stitched without batting initially (39:41). That’s a different approach for machine embroiderers, but let’s give it a go! There are several colorways to choose from such as the Threads of Grace line above or Lori Holt’s Farmer’s Daughter below.

Becky is using the Renew line by Sandy Gervais.

The Riley Blake Designs website offers a colorfully creative inspiration guide, showing different fabric line suggestions (21:55). She mentions that customizer sheets are available to print out and color with pencils to plan your own fabric choices (22:36).
FRIDAY #DBJJ April Mini Quilt Sampler, Assembly. The Stitchuation Room, 27 Mar 26
This session was packed with tips for assembling the DBJJ April Mini Quilt Sampler. It’s a perfect example of a tiling scene. For this project, Becky uses DBJJ Stabilizer & Batting and Magnets to attach the mini quilt to the house frame.
Becky recommends using a 90/14 needle to handle the thickness of batting and stabilizer. (37:54).

This tutorial for assembling tiles is excellent. Becky explains how to identify the outer stitch line on the back of the tiles to ensure they match up perfectly. (31:13)
Identify the outside stitch on the right side.

Identify it on the wrong side.

Stick the pin in the corner of the outside stitch line.

You will sew one needle width inside the outside stitch line.

Make sure the pins are absolutely straight.

Stitch lines line up perfectly!

Perfect seams. She nailed it!

Becky demonstrates the best way to press seams open for a perfectly flat, professional finish (48:38).

Happy stitching, everyone, and we hope this inspires you to put something new under the needle this weekend!
Happy Stitching everyone! See you next week!
