February Kimberbell Cuties Table Topper
For 2022, I’m doing a year-low sew/embroidery along making the Kimberbell Cuties Table Toppers. I picked this book up last year on our trip to Idaho and I wanted to make sure that I made them all. I figured a sew along was the best way to keep me accountable!
This project will have beginning piecing techniques for my viewers who are embroiderers but not quilters, embroidery techniques for my viewers who are quilters but not embroiderers, and of course, I’m dipping into how to use the ScanNCut to cut out the shapes and use Simply Applique if you didn’t want to get the companion CD with the design files on it. The supplies to join in are listed below.
To follow along with this year-long sew/embroider along, be sure to catch the videos on my channel! Each month I’ll show how to piece the topper, how to create the cut files using either the svg files on the CD or how to scan in the paper pattern from the book to create a cut file. Then I’ll show how to make the embroidery applique file using Simply Applique. There are a multitude of ways to make these cute table toppers and they are small enough to finish in a weekend so I hope you join in! Be sure to post your pic in our private Power Tools With Thread FB Group!

Let’s piece the topper.
Time to cut out the svg files and stitch them to the background. This video shows how to use the files on the design CD.
This supplemental video shows how to scan in the paper pattern and create the embroidery file using Simply Applique.
Now it’s time to stipple around the applique and self-bind to finish!
Yep! I can see already the possibilities for customization using this book and Simply Appliqué…let’s do it!!
