A Fabulous, Stitchy Start to 2025!

We had a great, productive time this week in the Stitchuation Room and I hope y’all enjoyed it because I know I did! If you missed the Stitchuation Room on my You Tube channel this week I hope you can take time to watch the replays. The Stitchuation Room is a Mon-Fri live virtual quilt/stitching retreat (complete with a virtual kitchen!) that is from 7-8AM central. Not an early bird or can’t catch the live? No worries – everything is on replay. This is the perfect stitchy chat to have on in your sewing room to have going on in the background as you’re working on your current project or UFO. Be sure to Subscribe and Like, and click the bell for notifications.

This week, we did the Snapplique process on the Brrr Mini Quilt from On Wander Lane’s Frost Hill and oh my goodness, it is so cute. I now have a personal snowman that won’t melt in my neck of the woods. haha  You will love the wonderful French Knots in the snowflake!  I learned to make these this week in Embrilliance! So fun!

On Tuesday’s program, the first of the new year, I demonstrated a neat trick to scan paper patterns into the ScanNCut. When paper patterns are scanned either in the SNC or on a copier, some patterns bleed through from designs on the back of the page and then you get all kinds of ‘noise’ on the scan when viewed in the free Brother Canvas. You don’t need a Brother machine to play in Canvas. In this video I show you how to alleviate that pesky problem. It’s a quick and easy, low-tech fix!

Wednesday, I digitized in Embrilliance from the ScanNCut file we made on Tuesday. The more you practice, the easier it gets, and the better the final product is, so be sure to watch and play, play, play with the software. You can’t break it. Don’t miss this show with lots of tips and tricks. Right now there is a 10% off coupon for Embrilliance good through 1/15 using my link: https://tinyurl.com/BeckysEmbrillianceLink Use code NEWSTART25 at checkout.

Thursday, I demonstrated using the Path tool Brother Canvas to recreate shapes that scan wonky or you don’t get the desired result. What a fantastic tool! You never know what little nugget you’re going to learn in these videos. 🙂

Today, 1/3/2025, I finished the Brrr Mini Quilt on my multi-needle (still needs binding). So cute! I love the way the contrasting thread looks in the Quilting Backdrop Snowflakes and Swirls stitching from Designs by Juju. Just a little change like a slightly lighter or contrasting thread makes the stitch pattern pop! If multi-needle embroidery machines intimidate you as they used to intimidate me, today’s video will help them seem friendlier.

Check out the perfection of the Snapplique final stitches. LOVE THIS METHOD!!

These live shows are so much fun for me. I love interacting with the live viewers in the chat and I love the community you have created. We love all skill levels and welcome everyone! Also, ‘stuff happens,’ on a live and I can show you on-the-fly how I avoid or handle some of the drama that can pop up.

Please LIKE and SUBRCRIBE, to my You Tube channel and subscribe to my blog so you can keep up with all that’s going on with PTWT. There are the live shows, discounts, and SO much more. But just as importantly, there are always new techniques and tricks to learn for your own sewing and embroidery journey. Plus, you might make a new online friend!

Thanks so much for being here. Before you ‘go sew something’ you can always find my links and vendor discounts just for my viewers here. Thank you for using these. It helps me to fund the channel. I never recommend products I don’t love myself. Thanks for being part of the PTWT Nation!

I love your channel. I have learned so much. I just retired 12/31 so now I’ll be able to watch more lives.

    • Congratulations on your retirement.Mine comes this year. I watch the lives every day, and look forward to the time to implement what I am learning more often. I certainly have accumulated projects – I will be pushing daisies before I get bored. I had hoped to go to Road to CA this year, but work got in the way, so hopefully next year. It is a bucket list item.

Your choice of background quilting is just perfect! Combined with the digitized snowflake it has an almost 3-dimensional look! May have to pick that book up!

Happy New Year to you, Keith, and of course Frito. I want to thank you for all that you do for us. I love watching your videos even if I don’t have all the equipment you have. I still learn bits here and there. Every little bit helps. Thank you again.

Becky, I love watching your broadcasts! It was wonderful to be under your teaching at the AllBrands San Antonio store a few months back. (We made the owls) Since then, hubby and I have done a considerable amount of traveling and life has been happening as it does for everyone. I have been really slack in picking up the Snapplique technique. Now that the holiday season is over, I am determined to get comfortable with the technique. How wonderful to have your channel on YouTube to view over and over again.

Thank you for your ability to teach in a clear and encouraging manner.
