Week in Review 1-26-1/29/26

Monday, 1-26-26 Prim Embroidery Cat & Corner Blocks, the Stitchuation Room

It’s Monday and there’s Fun to be Done in the Stitchuation Room!

It’s a cold day across most of the USA, so we are hoping your power is on, your coffee is hot, and your bobbin is full.

Becky’s adorable Sweetheart Street Bench Pillow is almost done! She shows how to make pockets for fairy lights within the pillow.  (5:42-6:59)

We watch as Becky embroiders the Embroidery Cat & Corner Blocks for the Prim on her 10-needle embroidery machine.

And on her single needle! Talk about multi-tasking!

If you are undecided if you should remove the stabilizer, Becky has some good advice.

Becky’s getting her fabrics ready for the America 250″ Quilt Along (25:12-35:50): Becky advises fabric preparation, cutting, and pre-washing dyed fabrics with vinegar to set colors. There’s lots to be done to celebrate USA’s birthday! Details are HERE, but take a peek at the fabrics from the American Gatherings III fat quarter bundle, (34:59-35:10).

What does the quilt look like?

Becky describes it as a good quilt for beginner to intermediate quilters, offering opportunities to learn traditional block piecing steps (34:59-35:10) Click here for the Blog that explains it all, and click here to see the schedule.

There’s a new embroidery project in Becky’s future! Want to jump in? “Stitch My Sewing Room” from Riley Blake Designs, which includes smaller projects like a wall hanging, zipper pouch, and pin cushion. She shows examples of different colorways and discusses zipper types for embroidery projects (43:29-47:50). Ready, Set, Pre-Order now!!

Tuesday, 1-27-26, Pockets & Assembly, Kimberbell Sweetheart Street Bench Pillow! The Stitchuation Room

We are shown how to create cut files for applique using a Brother embroidery machine with the My Connection feature, linking it to a ScanNCut machine.

Becky selects an embroidery design and its applique pieces to transfer these cut files wirelessly to the ScanNCut for pre-cutting fabric pieces. This method eliminates the need to cut fabric while it’s in the hoop! (7:06-15:32).

Sweetheart Street bench pillow from Kimberbell: We watch Becky prepare the zipper cover (20:25) and shares tips for installing a zipper. She also explains how to create the small pockets for battery packs for fairy lights, which is so helpful!

SEW much fun! Which is your favorite block on the Sweetheart Street Pillow? Ready, set, click, and please click like!

Where’s Wednesday’s episode? Becky didn’t have a live on Wednesday!

Thursday, 1-29-26 Finish the #Kimberbell Sweetheart Street Bench Pillow, Add Pockets, the Stitchuation Room

It is Sweetheart Street move in day! Becky completes #Kimberbell Sweetheart Street Bench Pillow on this livestream. She adds pockets and fairy lights. I didn’t make this pillow and now I have a serious case of bench pillow envy. It’s so, well, sweet!

Don’t skip adding in the fairy lights, they take the cake! They just add a new dimension to the finished product, and streetlights, after all, help us find our way home. Becky shows us how to add the little pockets for the batteries and takes us through every step.

The pillow blank is from Kimberbell.

Some stitching and pillow stuffing, and finally, the Sweetheart Street is move in ready!

Grab some sweets and enjoy this livestream!
