Tuesday – Prepping T-shirts for a Quilt
We all have them! Drawers full of T-shirts. We have favorites that we wear to remind of an event, or a vacation. T-shirts make fantastic memory quilts and help us to unstuff the drawers. This program was all about preparing the T-shirts for a quilt. It’s not hard, but there are some details you want to be attentive to for best results. I offered tips and tricks along the way as always. T-shirts are humble little things, but with a bit of creativity they make one of a kind, fantastic, quilts. I made one for Keith years ago which he really appreciates. This is from his ‘Harley’ season of life. Don’t you love the Harley shirt tags for cornerstones?

There are a LOT of tips for consideration when making a t-shirt quilt. Here’s the full video.
Weds – Making Ohio Star Blocks
My method for making the Ohio Star is a bit different than the pattern calls for. Be sure to check out the video to see how. I’m using the Firm Foundation pattern to make this quilt and I continued to make the Ohio Star blocks seen on the top of each church. Patterns are available from the Fat Quarter Shop and can be either mailed or downloaded. FQS even has a backing set. If you can’t find the panel to use in the quilt, consider embroidering scripture from Designs by Juju! There are even some free verses in this link.
Thurs – Embroider a FREE Name Tag
Today I linked to a free name tag you can make with your embroidery machine! These are great for any stitchy event you need to attend. Be sure to check out the links below the video to get the free embroidery design. It’s good for any machine brand! I often mention Embrilliance software because it’s a great program, and user friendly. For Embroidery Thursday I explain in detail the good, the wonderful and the fabulous of this product. Did you know that it can be used with any machine? It doesn’t require a subscription, either. You buy it, you own it for good, and it works on any computer as well (Except a Chromebook, or any other mobile devices.)
They are offering a coupon for 10% off Embrilliance software with code POTOFGOLD25 thru 3/17. They are including with it a file for an embroidered name tag as well, which is what I demonstrated with today. I honestly can’t say enough about this program. It has taken my embroidery to new levels. I use it every time I do a machine embroidery project.
Legit Kits Sewphia BOM Quilt, Month 1, 3/6/25
Well. PTWT has a new fan base! Thank you for tuning in to Keith’s first live session as he begins the BOM Sewphia from Legit Kits. As of this moment, the BOM kits are sold out, but will be available again when they get more fabric. Yay!

There’s more to come, as Keith demonstrates each block of the month. The 2nd half of this block will be streamed on 3/20 at 1pm central so be sure to set your alarm! Rest assured we’re working on the audio! Issues, issues…
Friday – First block of Prairie Home Quilt a Long! QAL
Friday rolled around quickly with all the lives I did this week, but it was wonderful to sit down with my machine to work a bit on my Prairie Home Quilt. We are just getting ready for the QAL but I need to get ahead to stay on time! Today I demonstrated the sunflower block.
All in all, a productive week, but friends, without you, I know I would not be as productive. I love this community, and I love how you inspire ME to put something under MY needles. Go sew something!

Love watching you, Becky and now Keith. 🙂 I watch the replays as I am in Vegas and too early for this retired chick. Hee Hee
I was able to get my ruler rack from your son and YEAH…I am so happy to get the rulers off of my cutting table and it looks so good. I was amazed on how many rulers it holds as well as all of my square rulers in the slot behind. Thank you for bringing those to us as well as your channel everyday. One of these days, I hope to meet you out on a cruise. Thanks again for sharing all of your knowledge. I am more of an machine embroidery person but always learn new tricks from you. From my dog, Max to Frito..doggie hugs…
Thanks, Rosemarie
I enjoy your videos. I usually watch the replay. Looking forward to many more.
