Christmas on the Rhine!
A special cruise with Becky Thompson
Stitcher-Friends! Maureen Lewicki here, to tell you about a Viking Cruise Becky is taking, November 28th – December 5th, 2027, and she wants us all to join her!

This 8-day river cruise with Viking on the Viking HLIN, (not to be confused with HUSQVARNA® VIKING® Sewing Machines!) will explore the heart of Europe’s festive spirit. With 4 countries and 8 guided tours to enjoy, we will soak in the magic of the Christmas markets.

There really is nowhere else on earth where Christmas is more festive, and a craft-lover’s paradise. Europeans love a good Christmas festival, and each one has its own character, including, of course, local brews and wine,

local artisans galore,

And oh, the pastries!

This will be a treat for your color palette AND your taste palate!
And to think you can travel with others who speak your love language: making, crafting, quilting, embroidery, and expressing our creativity with fiber! Let’s fill that beautiful river cruiser with all who speak that language!
Secure Your Spot! A small $25 deposit per person will hold your reservation. Mention Power Tools with Thread and contact Donna (groupspecialist@hotmail.com) to book. With $25.00 now, you will have plenty of time to stuff your mattress with savings for the trip and the goodies to bring home. Oh, what wonderful gifts we can bring home!
There’s always lots to do on board these small ships: Attend presentations on local culture. There are gingerbread decorating workshops, and Christmas tree decorating parties (Gingerbread houses and Christmas trees were born in Germany) and of course lots of chatting about our finished projects and UFOs, and future fabric plans!

Some have been wondering about accommodations for people with mobility issues. The website mentions that accommodations vary on ships, and that the ships are often in port next to each other, so there’s some embarking and disembarking between ships, and some cobblestone roads to contend with. Your specific questions can all be addresses with you contact Donna (groupspecialist@hotmail.com)
Here’s a quick video describing the trip even more:

Sooo looking forward to this trip. I have my family (party of 8) coming with us!
Thank you so much for letting us know about this trip.
Wonderful trip, but I highly recommend not taking someone in a wheelchair. On the last day it’s almost impossible to get out of your room with all the suitcases in the way! No one ever mentions this!
