Stitch Your Sewing Room Banner Fitting the Borders, the Stitchuation Room, 11 May 26
Becky’s happy to be home after a busy week at the H&H America’s trade show with a head cold as one of the souvenirs. But that won’t stop our stitching fun.
Stitch Your Sewing Room Embroidery Stitch a Long
Sometimes, even when we follow the directions, our embroidered blocks turn out to be slightly different sizes. It’s easy to feel discouraged, but don’t panic! Whether you are working on a banner like the Stitch Your Sewing Room project or any other tiling scene, you can “fudge” it to make it work. Becky shows you how. (14:08).

Becky shows us how to make it work!

Stitch Aunt Sukey’s Choice Block, #CelebratingAmericaQAL, the Stitchuation Room, 13 May 26
Today was all about productivity, organization, and tackling some beautiful quilt blocks.
America 250 Quilt-Along (QAL):
Becky’s deep into the Fat Quarter Shop America 250 QAL continues! The America 250 Quilt-Along (QAL) is a major quilting event hosted by the Fat Quarter Shop. Here is the key information regarding how you can participate. (2:44).
Schedule & Fabric Selection: You can find the official blog post with the full schedule and fabric requirements for the project here.

Pattern Book: The project utilizes the Celebrate Quilts pattern book, which is available for purchase here.

Backing Requirements: You will need either 4.25 yards of 42-inch fabric or 2.5 yards of 108-inch wide-back fabric here.

Becky focused today on creating the Aunt Sukey’s Choice block (13:20).

Becky broke down the technical side of piecing, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the “integrity of the base shape” and perfecting those flying geese units using directional striped fabrics. By paying attention to the fold and the turn of the cloth, you can achieve perfect, crisp points every time (18:13).
►Have you tried the So Fine! 50 wt Thread ? It’s Becky’s new GO TO piecing thread! She loves it for its Versatility, Composition and Low-Lint which helps keep both home sewing machines significantly cleaner. Becky’s PQ1500 piecing machines loves it too because the thread trimmer works now 100% of the time! Quilters often refer to it as a “set it and forget it” thread because it is remarkably consistent and generally requires minimal tension adjustments. Sounds like a win-win!

Thanks for hanging out! Don’t forget to grab your supplies and join us as we continue to put something under the needle. Happy stitching!
Aunt Suki’s Choice Blocks (4:13) are done!

She highly recommends their services for those who live in areas without local quilting stores, referring to these regions as “quilt deserts” The April 2026 Subscription Box contains a quilt binding holder, fabric for a strawberry pin cushion, a “Bunting Bliss” project, a vinyl pouch kit, a “Spools and Stars” three-yard quilt pattern and fabric. WHOA that’s quite a box of goodies! (17:48).

Becky’s getting ready to do the Kimberbell (KB) Applique of the Month, a monthly subscription embroidery program. The May design is a “Let Freedom Ring” flag with floral accents.

For the Doorstep Version ($24/month) you receive all fabrics and instructions to complete the project. You can skip, reschedule, or cancel their subscription at any time. Or you can opt for just the digital download embroidery design files for $10/month.
