Stitchuation Room Week in Review August 31-September 4, 2026
Welcome, September! Cooler days, crisp evenings, and lots and lots of lovely fall colors are in our stitching adventures.
#Kimberbell Sept Home Sewn, the Stitchuation Room, 8/31/26
Mondays are so fun in the Stitchuation Room. Becky proves once again that she gets more done in a weekend than I do in a month, but we get to share in her fun and accomplishments.
Becky works on her Kimberbell Home Sewn project. The file from Kimberbell is a three-piece set. Check out the adorable bell design (14:36) which she stitched using Kingstar metallic thread for a bright, golden finish. There are Kimberbell Home Sewn Fabric Kits here also.

DBJJ Halloween Night Wall Hanging
Designs by JuJu did it again, with their adorable DBJJ Halloween Night. This is so cute! Those ghosts, that purple house, they just make me smile. Get the pattern here and then hop over to Two Chicks Quilting for the kit. (13:09) This is on Becky’s to do list. Want to join her?
New Fabric? Yes please! I can see why Becky snatched up this fabulous fat quarter bundle as soon as she saw it! Fig Tree and Co combined gorgeous fabrics for the Butternut & Sage fabric line. (17:15). The autumnal colors are perfect, and the blues give a wonderful pop of the blue skies of Autumn. I can already smell the pumpkin spice. Becky said these are the colors of her home and will make gorgeous table runners or placemats to showcase the beautiful pumpkins and acorn prints (18:40).

Tuesday, QAYG Border Quilting on a Longarm, Autumn Love Outer Borders, the Stitchuation Room, 1 Sept 26
Today, Becky demonstrates her process for longarm quilting using the King Quilter II Elite and Pro-Stitcher automation software.
King is a good name for this beauty.
A longarm machine with automation is Becky’s recommendation to avoid back strain if you are not experienced in free arm quilting. (5:23) Becky’s primary goal is to quilt the outer borders of her Autumn Love quilt this week.
Becky talks us through a bit about Pro-stitcher, repositioning the pattern, and of course troubleshooting (50:13) and explains her manual method for checking bobbin tension (54:26).

Maple Leaf Block, #CelebratingAmericaQAL, the Stitchuation Room, 2 Sep 26
Wednesday is quilt piecing day and today’s focus is the quilt block construction for the Maple Leaf Block, a block from the #CelebratingAmericaQAL.
The pattern is from the beautiful book titled Celebrate Quilts Pattern book.
This is Becky’s maple leave block.
Many people ask about Becky’s handy 3 Tier Ironing Cart. It has shelves, and wheels. She added a board on the top and ironing mat. She’s using a Oliso Mini Iron.
I love that Becky encourages us to embrace mistakes as part of the learning process and offers tips for organizing our sewing space, such as using blue sticky notes to track finished block sizes (23:05).

Thursday How to Pre-quilt byAnnie Bag Patterns with your Embroidery Machine! The Stitchuation Room, 3 Sep 26
After watching the byAnnie Live featuring background quilting from Designs by Juju on Wednesday, Becky was inspired today to show how to do the technique Juju and Sheldon were talking about. Becky used Embrilliance Embroidery Software (Essentials and Stitch Artist 1) to create background quilting for byAnnie bag patterns. (0:02). She’s using Designs by JuJu Free DBJJ Overlapping Swirl Pattern. That will be pretty!
She plans to use it to make the Free byAnnie Petit Four Pattern, pictured below. Great gifts for the holidays approaching fast.
