PTWT Week in Review 1/12/-1/16/26

Monday 1-12-26, Prim Embroidery Quilt Farm Girl Block, the Stitchuation Room
It’s Monday in The Stitchuation Room, where we have proof that stitching is always better with good tools, good dogs, and good company!
We watched Becky prepare to stitch the Farm Girl block from the Prim Embroidery Quilt (5:35) on her multi-needle machine, the Brother PR1055 whome has as affectionatly named Spanky. She walked us through how she organizes her threads and fabrics, making the process efficient and stress-free.

Here are all the blocks that are finished so far. Are you OH-ing and AH-ing as I am?

Don’t miss Becky’s tip to create and resize a basting box on a multi-needle machine (18:02): an incredibly helpful trick for precise placement. Becky also demonstrated how to manually select thread colors and set stop points, so the machine pauses for fabric trimming, giving you more control and cleaner results. She makes it look easy and teaches us how we can do it too.
Becky’s making progress on several ongoing projects. She started a new block for The Quilted Snowman

If you have been following Becky long, you know she loves Two Chicks Quilting, which will soon be kitting designs for Riley Blake and carrying a full line of Glide thread, making them an exciting resource to watch. Check them out here.
If you love embroidery, quilting, and learning clever machine tricks, this episode has plenty to enjoy.
Please, a quick reminder to LIKE the videos. Even the stitching world has to keep the algorithm happy!
Tuesday, 1-13-26 Pre-cut Applique Fabric w/ Brother #ScanNCut, #SweetPea Celtic Topper, the Stitchuation Room
In Tuesday’s “Stitchuation Room” session, stories are always plentiful, and pastries are calorie free!
Becky finished the wedges for a Sweet Pea Celtic Table Topper (46:33). Are you doing this with her? It’s so satisfying! Download it from Sweet Pea, and don’t miss the fun of making these in every color! Becky walked through how she breaks down the project into manageable sections, making the project feel far less overwhelming.

Her decision process for whether applique pieces should be pre-cut, and whether to use her ScanNCut was interesting. Her approach, using the Embrilliance embroidery software to turn embroidery designs into SVG cut files keeps the workflow efficient and avoids wasted fabric. I absolutely LOVE the fabric choices Becky made. One fabric with flags; one with fireworks. Makes me want to stash dive!

The Hot Fix Adhesive ( Use coupon code POWER for 10% off} and Cricut heat press also make things quick and efficient, and consistent, especially when preparing multiple applique pieces. This was so SEW helpful, don’t miss this.
Becky delivered a welcoming and informative stitching experience in this live stream. Grab a hot beverage and enjoy!
Wednesday, 1-14-26 Mid-week Quilting, The Quilted Snowman Buttons Block, the Stitchuation Room
Wednesday Becky updates us on her sewing projects and shares honestly about her challenges with fabric selection for a February wall hanging from Designs By JuJu (3:49-11:24). It’s not the super cute project that’s the problem, it’s the internal chatter we all experience about colors, and wonderful fabric designs. Here’s January.

Here’s Becky’s February choices.

Becky cut out hearts for the Celtic Hearts Project (11:30-12:45). She will finish them later in the week. Becky demonstrates the benefits of using Hot Fix Adhesive -( Use coupon code POWER for 10% off ) for fabric cutting. It’s so easy to use prevents fraying and damage to cutting mats. (12:48-17:23). And a discount too? Win win!
She shares some important information about her decision to focus more on machine embroidery projects for the channel and shares about future collaborations with Kimberbell for 2026. Don’t worry! There will be plenty of quilting as well. After all, quilting and embroidery go together like fabric and thread.
And speaking of quilting, we watch as Becky works on the The Quilted Snowman buttons block because what’s a snowman without buttons even if there’s nothing to button up? (20:50-22:20, 37:47-46:50) If you have followed her for a minute or two, you probably also hear the phrase “Maintain the Integrity of the Base Shape.” If you aren’t sure what that means, this demo is SO important to watch!

Here we go, Hit that red arrow and the thumbs up!
Thursday, 1-15-26 Color Sort Multiples for Single & Multi-Needle Embroidery, the Stitchuation Room
I find pre‑wound bobbin differences confusing, but Becky spends time explaining each one. Thanks, Becky! She explains it best, so watch, but here are some highlights. It’s a helpful refresher or for anyone who’s ever wondered, as I have, why their bobbins aren’t interchangeable across machines.
Type M is the largest size, offering the most thread capacity. This is for Magnum and is used on longarms.

Type L and Type A are smaller and often used in different machine models

Leftover bobbin thread can be re-purposed for small projects, so I pop them into a mason jar on a shelf.
Becky offers us a step‑by‑step tutorial on color sorting using Embrilliance software — a must‑watch for multi‑needle and single needle machine users. (29:53–41:11)
In this session, we learn to assign unique colors to each object, and I think this is brilliant-removing unnecessary tack‑down lines when fabric pieces are pre‑cut.

If you want to streamline your embroidery workflow, the video offered something for every maker. Enjoy, and clicking LIKE helps Becky’s channel to reach more makers! Thanks!
Enjoy this fun combination of sewing and story-telling!

FREE Lesson, How to Finish Embroidery Tiling Projects, the #Sweet Pea Celtic Table Topper
Here’s a new feature Becky is adding to her channel! The first lesson was last Friday, and the link is below this video. This is a FREE, fantastic lesson on embroidery tiling. When, I started embroidery I found a lot of tutorials, but when I found Becky, Power Tools with Thread, I STAYED. The tiling of pieces was making me crazy. Becky’s teaching style is clear, and straightforward. I really appreciate that, as a student of embroidery!

Becky has a great source for clapper choices, a must for flat seams and a professional looking project.

She offers ironing tips, best pins and pinning practices. Think: Precise Pinning and Pressing to achieve Perfectly flat seams!

Becky gives us a detailed guide on finishing the Celtic Table Center by Sweet Pea, focusing on techniques for joining fabric wedges to creating a cohesive piece. But you have to watch. This lesson is a gem. She shows how you can take out your aggressions using a hammer to flatten bulky seams. HAMMER TIME!!

So much information. And the lesson is free. Amazing.

Finished, and looking beautiful.

Becky gets a lot of satisfaction with machine embroidery and has a depth of knowledge about it that I have truly never seen online. She didn’t make me say this by the way!
It’s because of her rich experience and enjoyment that I am really excited for her that her focus for this year will be on embroidery! Oh yes, quilting is not on the back burner, but, as she explains it this week, she feels this is the right direction. I hope that if you have not used your embroidery machine, or only use it rarely, that she can inspire you to get hooping and get excited! I look forward to improving my skills. I live in an embroidery desert!
So, mark it in your calendar that on Mondays & Tuesdays we can visit with Becky in the Stitchuation Room for machine ! Tuesday through embroidery. Wednesday is Mid-week Quilting Updates, and the Thurs & Friday will be more embroidery. We will all be richer for the fun!
Can I say it? Go hoop something!
If you read to the end, thank you! Until next week! ~Maureen Lewicki, Blogger in Chief. 🙂

This is a great recap of a wonderful week with Becky. I had never seen a hammer used for sewing. The photos show Becky’s attention to detail. Love this writing and humor. Looking forward to Monday 🙂
Thank you for doing these weekly recaps. I look forward to reading them every Sunday since I can’t watch Becky’s Live videos.
