The Stitchuation Room Week in Review 12/15-12/19/25

It’s Hanukkah week!

Monday, 12-15-25 Fun Potholder Pattern for Last Minute Christmas Gifts, FQS Sew Sampler box reveal
Christmas is barreling toward us. Are you ready? Becky inspired us this week with just the cutest Potholder Parade. Sure, they make cute gifts for under the tree but change up those colors and they can be festive for any occasion. How about a couple for each holiday? Each month? What a fantastic stash buster!

There is so much good info about making the potholders heat resistant, best threads and fabrics to use. Don’t skip this rich episode.
Becky told us about her productive stitching this past weekend. Watch for two upcoming live streams for the Kimberbell bench pillow (“Sweetheart Street”). This would look so sweet no pun intended, on my couch. That welcome sign is so cute!
Becky showed what’s in the November “Sew Sampler” box from Fat Quarter Shop(12:53-15:53): which includes and diagonal seam tape. Don’t buy the cheap tape! It gets sticky. EW.

Every box has such good, well, goodies, including coupons and fabric. November’s has jolly bars from “Wild Honey.” Oh, Those blues!!!

She also announces the upcoming Cupid Box mystery box will be available. Reserve yours now! Fat Quarter Shop “Cupid Box”.

The contents of these boxes are always practical and well made. Don’t keep Cupid waiting, reserve now!
Have you seen the Sweet Pea Celtic Table Center and Finished Table Topper (14:10-17:13): This is an older, but timeless “Sweet Pea” Celtic heart table center pattern which Becky will make on her channel. Here’s another piece which can be customized for different holidays. Anything goes here. I am thinking Valentine’s Day, St Patty’s Day, July 4th, June weddings!

This week Becky demonstrates why we need Embrilliance for our embroidery adventures. Don’t miss this deal! Embrilliance software 10% off coupon code SAVE10NOW thru 12/28.

Tuesday, 12/16/25, #Kimberbell Sweetheart Street, Block 1 – The Stitchuation Room
Well, Becky’s move to her Sweetheart Street project is going well! (4:10-4:15), and she continued with the potholder project from yesterday (5:07-5:50).
SPECIAL GUEST! Blaine Austin, formerly CEO of Sewing Machines Plus, joined the show (9:46-10:40) to tell us about his new employment with Stitch It International in Missouri. Stitch It International is the North America importer for SWF embroidery machines (11:15-13:00). Blaine is excited to be with the company and will launch a new e-commerce site and a new live show called “Stitch It Live” (13:00-14:22). He also highlights the advantages of SWF multi-needle machines compared to home-use machines (17:15-20:11). Blain’s first live show will be on December 17th at 10:00 AM Central time (24:25-25:40).
Becky demonstrates how to merge and manipulate the design in. Embrilliance software (10% off coupon code SAVE10NOW thru 12/28!) adjusting placement stitches and removing unnecessary lines (28:00-35:07). WHOA I needed that info!
Wednesday, 12-17-25 Potholder Bias Binding, Cut Binding Time in HALF! The Stitchuation Room
It’s binding time! I never get tired of watching Becky bind! It always looks so great, and I pick up tidbits and tricks every time.

As Becky finishes up the Potholder Parade, she demonstrates a technique to fold the bias binding with an off-center crease, allowing for a single-pass stitching method where both the front and back are caught simultaneously (24:07-28:52), which is not the traditional quilt binding. As always Becky’s teaching skills shine as she shows us the best way to attach the bias binding to curves, trim the binding and join the ends. I need to rewatch this one. Binding always, well, gets me in a bind!

Becky showed us a stitching error on the first block of her “Sweetheart Street” project, explaining why she won’t be restitching it, highlighting the importance of labeling spools for easier identification (5:18-7:00). This is pure GOLD: when and why to give ourselves grace to continue, without getting caught up in perfection. I needed to hear this!

Thursday, 12-18-25 Stitch the Prim Embroidery Quilt, the Farmhouse Block, the Stitchuation Room
Becky was wearing a new tee shirt from Bee Inspired Tees She showed it at (4:40-5:29). Happy Holidays to us!
Becky’s making great progress on the Prim Embroidery Quilt by Lori Holt. Are you doing it too? So cute, so classic Lori Holt.

Becky’s using Designs by JuJu TearEZ stabilizer. This is a great product, exactly what we can rely on JuJu to find for us.
FRIDAY 12-19-25 Color Sort Multiples in Embrilliance, Prim Steps Blocks, the Stitchuation Room
There’s always more to learn about our stitching art! Today Becky has great suggestions for labeling and cutting. Preparing fabrics, and notions is part of the process! It’s time consuming but worth the time. EZ stax is one of Becky’s favorite organizing tools and she reviews how she uses them for maximum benefit.
Here is the pearl of this video: instead of making the same block four times, you make four at a time. By using the “color sort” utility (40:09) in Embrilliance, you reduce many color stops, so that the machine stitches across multiple blocks at once, saving time, minimizing hoop pulling and thread changes. It’s easier than it seems and will make you the boss of your project!

If you watch Becky, you know how much she uses Embrilliance software. This fantastic software can raise your embroidery to a new level. Use the code SAVE10NOW for 10% off thru 12/28. Treat yourself to this: Who else will??

Our stitching journey will never grow boring with the help of the skills we learn along the way. We hope you enjoy the episodes, and this review. Watch, enjoy, then Go Sew Something!
